Weight Loss Supplements I Take

Weight loss supplements are something everyone on their journey through fat loss will at least have to consider. First of all, I'd like to state that I think it's completely possible to be healthy and obtain the body you desire without any supplementation. That said, I love using some supplementation. It makes life easier.

I am a fulltime business woman, I homeschool my kids, and quasi-homestead. Honestly, sometimes my energy levels are depleted. Add high fitness goals to my list, and feelings of overwhelment can wash over me. Healthy supplements help immensely. Protein powders, BCAAs, occasional fat burners, and green powder are my favorites.

There is also a handful of other products and weight loss supplements that I periodically use, like fiber pills, L-Carnatine, and Citrimax. And I experiment with new products after I carefully research them, if I foresee any possible benefit. I still haven't decided how I feel about glutamine and creatine. I'm playing with those now.

Protein Powder


Optimum 100% Whey Protein, 2 Lbs., Double Rich ChocolateProtein powder is lifesaver. The best protein powder, or at least my favorite brand is Optimum Nutrition, for lots of reasons. The main reason is because their flavors rock. They have so many out-there flavors that it really helps break up the monotony.

Seriously, get a load of some of their flavors: Caramel Toffee Fudge, Tropical Punch, Mocha Cappacino… See what I mean?

Plus, they have tons of different kinds of proteins. I like to buy both whey and casein and mix them. Another reason O.N. is a good protein to pick is because it’s WAY more affordable than some of the others.

Another really good protein powder I use is called LifeTime’s Life’s Basics Plant Protein. It’s vegan, so it’s made of all vegetable proteins - hemp, rice, chia, and pea, I think. It’s super healthy, with zero chemicals. It's really thick and yummy, too, which is my main motivation behind rotating it with my Optimum Nutrition stuff. Not many flavors, but good stuff.

BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids)

BCAA StackBCAA Stack by Universal Nutrition is just awesome. It helps me get through my workouts. It's got no stimulants, and it's hard to believe that just a mix of BCAAs and glutamine would keep me steaming, but it really does. And it's quick, too.

I think the package says to have some before and after your workout. But, I don't do it that way. I sip it during my workouts. I take a sip, and then wait a few seconds and perform my next set. Really good stuff, I'm telling ya. Yummy grape.

BCAA pills are out there, but I'd really rather have the drink. It's good for cutting phases when you're feeling kind of weak and hungry. It's sweet and calorie free, so I'm there!

Fat Burners

Nutrex Lipo 6x, 120 Multi-Phase Capsules Just to clear the air, I know fat burners don't actually burn fat. Duh. Anyone who doesn't know that definitely doesn't need to be taking them.

They are simply a little boost to make you feel like you can stay on whatever program you're on. Some are really, really good. And some make little difference at all.


It's a good idea to rotate fat burners. Never stay on them for more than 8 weeks or so, or they'll lose their potency (plus, that just can't be good for you.)

The best fat burners that I've used are Lipo 6 and MPower. Lipo 6 is my favorite. Six ingredients. All pronounceable and researchable. And it kills appetite. MPower is up there too, with no side effects.

Both of these fat burners have a phase in the beginning where you slowly increase your dosage. This way you can determine your tolerance level. I usually don't take any dosages in the morning because I'm not giving up my coffee!

Seriously, though, I couldn't live without my fat burners. I don't need them often, but when I do, they really are my knight in shining capsule form.

Green Powder

NOW Green PhytoFood, 283 Grams I love green powder. I've had some nearly everyday for the last 10 years or so. It just makes my body feel so good and clean. I can really feel the difference the days I go without it(I sometimes stop taking everything, even my multi vitamin to give my body a break.) I love a cheap version, actually.

There's a bazillion different ones on the market, but the NOW brand of green powder, called Green Phytofoods, is just as good, if not better than any. Take a look at the label and see what I mean. Mega health food, and cheap per serving. I use one scoop a day in one of my protein shakes, but they also have it in pill form.

I also periodically take a few other supplements, mostly when I'm in a cutting phase.
So yeah, you can totally transform your physique without taking a single supplement. But, there's healthy help readily available to those who want a hand. Oh, and if you're in the market for supplements, here's a coupon for ya.

Blast through the pain, people. If it's worth having (and a lean, ripped body definitely is) - it's going to take hard work. Stop being a wuss, suck it up, and make your life awesome!

Think about it. There are tons of people who have fit, beautiful bodies. Therefore, it MUST be possible, right? We are all born with an equal amount of potential POWER. We can choose to use that power to achieve the results we want, or we can totally ignore and misuse it.
