Motivational Books That Have Influened Me
Magazines offer a lot of motivation, in short, easily digestable form. It's fair to say that I'm personally addicted to muscle, fitness, and motivational magazines. Here are a few that I couldn't live without.
My Favorite Books
Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy has helped me succeed in every area of my life, including fitness. The book is just crammed full of wisdom, lessons, and practical steps to propel you forward in whatever life goals you may have. My copy is well read, complete with highlighter marks and notes. I highly recommend it to everyone.
Fit for the Love of It by Kary and Uche Odaitu was the book that really changed my life when it comes to fitness. It helped me to see the importance of making fitness a lifestyle, not a fad. It helped me stay motivated when I was super overweight and not lose hope because I had so long of a way to go. Kary and Uche are real. There is no fluff to their advice. Change your way of thinking and make a radical and lasting change to your health.
Become a Better You by Joel Osteen is a little mainstream, but Joel's ideas are pretty solid. He appeals to the masses, I think because he reminds us of who we were really meant to be. This book acts like a motivational coach, routing you on. It points you in the right direction. A good, light read.
The Master Key System by Charles Haanel is fairly old. He published it in 1912 and it had sold
over 200,000 copies by 1933. This is a relatively smallbook, but you could spend years going over the concepts. It's perfect brain/spiritual/self-help food. Here's a quote from the Charles Haanel site:
"The Master Key System is a system that teaches the ultimate principles, causes, effects, and laws that underlie all attainment and success. When you want to attain something, The Master Key System will show you how to get it. The results you will attain from using this system are so startling as to appear incredible. For this reason, more and more people are becoming students of The Master Key System than ever before."
Everyone has heard about Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto. And, it's with good reason. It's an enormous resource. This book is what took helped me take my body from average to much lower body fat levels. The principles are applicable to everyone, whether you've got 100+ pounds to lose, or shredding for a competition. BFFM will empower you as it teaches you exactly how to design your own program to acheive the goals you set for yourself.
